چکیده

An edible fungal polysaccharide termed as ABP was obtained by extraction with hot water, and followed successive chromatographic purification using DEAE-Sepharose Fast Flow column and Sephacryl S-300 High-Resolution column. A symmetrical peak was obtained on high-performance size-exclusion chromatography with an average molecular weight of 5.17 × 104 Da, which was named ABP, and its main components were D-glucose and D-mannose. Based on the study of methylation analysis, along with FT-IR, GC, GC-MS, 1D 1H and 13C NMR and 2D NMR (H-HCOSY, TOCSY, HMQC, and NOESY), its chemical structure was featured with a repeating unit (1→6) linking β-D-Glcp as the main backbone with (1→4)-linked α-D-Manp units. The structure of the mainly repeating units of ABP was established as: →6)-β-D-Glcp-(1→4)-α-D-Manp(1→6)-β-D-Glcp-(1→6)-β-D-Glcp-(1→.

Selected wild strains of Agaricus bisporus produce high yields of mushrooms at 25°C.

BACKGROUND To cultivate the button mushroom Agaricus bisporus in warm countries or during summer in temperate countries, while saving energy, is a challenge that could be addressed by using the biological diversity of the species. AIMS The objective was to evaluate the yield potential of eight wild strains previously selected in small scale experiments for their ability to produce mature frui...

An abundant hydrophobin (ABH1) forms hydrophobic rodlet layers in Agaricus bisporus fruiting bodies.

The SDS-insoluble protein fraction of Agaricus bisporus fruiting bodies was solubilized with trifluoroacetic acid. On SDS-PAGE this fraction was found to contain one abundant protein with an apparent M(r) of 16 kDa. The N-terminal amino acid sequence of this protein was determined and RT-PCR used to isolate a cDNA clone which upon sequencing identified the protein as a typical class I hydrophob...

Characterization of serine proteinase expression in Agaricus bisporus and Coprinopsis cinerea by using green fluorescent protein and the A. bisporus SPR1 promoter.

The Agaricus bisporus serine proteinase 1 (SPR1) appears to be significant in both mycelial nutrition and senescence of the fruiting body. We report on the construction of an SPR promoter::green fluorescent protein (GFP) fusion cassette, pGreen_hph1_SPR_GFP, for the investigation of temporal and developmental expression of SPR1 in homobasidiomycetes and to determine how expression is linked to ...
